Programming, instrumentation or commissioning: we look for the freelance automation engineer who knows your equipment and software. You choose, they work on your site.
Translate the required operation of a machine or line into sequences and PLC programs. Review operating modes, equipment interfaces and fault scenarios with the process and maintenance teams.
The profiles you might meet
Industrial automation engineer
Control systems engineer
Automation project manager
Deliverables to scope together
Functional analysis and operating sequences
Commented programs and version control
Operating mode and fault test specification
02
Process instrumentation and control
Connect process variables to the sensors, actuators and control loops required. Define measurement ranges, signals, wiring interfaces and tests with the operator.

Industrial instrumentation technician
Deliverables to scope together
Instrument list and data sheets
Loop diagrams and input/output list
Loop test procedures and records
03
Supervisory control and site integration
Prepare operator interfaces, alarms and data exchange between PLCs and supervisory systems. Integration includes agreed workshop and site testing, plus the documentation needed by operations and maintenance teams.

At which stage of your project do we step in?
01
Before the project
The need takes shape: we find the expert who documents sequences and tests.
02
During the project
Development started: your agent tracks the milestones and adjusts the brief with you.
03
After the project
Line restarted: we organise the handover and, if needed, the permanent hire.
Before we talk
Which programs and working windows are available?
List accessible PLCs, software, versions and source programs. Describe the change, connected equipment, planned shutdowns and the people responsible for tests.
Which processes, PLCs, instruments and supervisory software make up the installation, and which versions must the professional know?
Does the assignment involve designing a new sequence, modifying an existing installation or preparing integration and testing?
Which access windows, site procedures and approval responsibilities govern modifications and the equipment’s release for use?
Do you practise one of these roles?
Industrial automation engineer
Control systems engineer
Supervisory control / SCADA engineer
Test and commissioning engineer
Automation project manager
We look for these profiles for our clients on a regular basis. Tell us about your achievements and the projects you have led: a talent agent calls you back to understand what you are looking for.
Frequently asked
Industrial automation: your questions
How do you choose between programming and commissioning expertise?
Programming covers development and preliminary testing. Commissioning tests the system on the installation and requires diagnostics and on-site coordination. One person can cover both if their experience supports it.
Can we search for a professional without the source programs?
Yes, provided this limitation is clear. First establish what access and rights are available and which documentation can be recovered. An initial assessment may be a separate first stage; do not assume a modification is feasible.
Who is responsible for safety functions?
The project must identify the required expertise and responsible people. The title of automation engineer alone does not establish competence in machinery safety or authority to approve it. Define tasks and authorisations for the specific work.
Can tests be carried out remotely?
Some preliminary tests are possible with suitable tools. Tests involving equipment and its actual behaviour require the agreed site conditions and participants. Define this split before setting the schedule.
